The laboratory technician is responsible for performing venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques while ensuring accurate patient identification and processing. They also manage specimen accessioning, centrifugation, and delivery to testing departments while maintaining a clean and stocked workstation.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of a formal phlebotomy training program or externship. Previous phlebotomy experience and professional certification are preferred.

The Lab Technician collects specimens by venipuncture, skin puncture or other special collection technique; receives specimens (accessions) into LIS and performs pre-analytic processing of specimens.
