What You'll Do:
This position is responsible for serves as Crowley's enterprise subject matter expert for workforce development initiatives and external talent pipeline programs. Working in partnership with the Director, Culture and Communities, this role leads the implementation of workforce development strategies that strengthen access to maritime and transportation careers, expand educational partnerships, and support sustainable workforce pipelines aligned with business needs. The Senior Advisor develops, manages, and evaluates workforce development programs, scholarship initiatives, and community partnerships while serving as the primary relationship manager for educational institutions, workforce agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community partners. The role ensures workforce development investments produce measurable business and community outcomes through effective program management, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous evaluation. This position combines strategic program leadership, partnership development, community engagement, grant administration, and workforce planning to enhance Crowley's employer brand and long-term workforce sustainability.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Development Programs
Lead implementation of enterprise workforce development initiatives that support current and future workforce needs.
Develop and manage workforce development programs that increase awareness of maritime and transportation career opportunities.
Build talent pipeline initiatives supporting mariners, CDL drivers, technical occupations, and other critical workforce needs.
Coordinate internship, apprenticeship, scholarship, and career awareness initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
Evaluate workforce programs and recommend continuous improvements based on outcomes and emerging workforce trends.
Education & Community Partnerships
Build and maintain strategic relationships with schools, colleges, universities, workforce development boards, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, military transition programs, and industry associations.
Identify partnership opportunities that expand access to diverse talent pipelines.
Represent Crowley at career fairs, workforce conferences, educational events, and community meetings.
Collaborate with community organizations to strengthen workforce readiness and career pathway initiatives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for workforce development partners across assigned regions.
Scholarship & Community Investment Programs
Manage the enterprise scholarship program, including annual planning, budgeting, application administration, selection processes, recipient communication, and reporting.
Coordinate scholarship committees and maintain governance processes supporting equitable program administration.
Monitor scholarship outcomes and maintain relationships with recipients and educational partners.
Support community investment initiatives that align with workforce development objectives.
Philanthropy & Grant Administration
Support community investment activities through grant due diligence, compliance reviews, and program evaluation.
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure workforce-related grants align with organizational priorities and community investment strategies.
Monitor grant utilization and maintain documentation supporting compliance requirements.
Assist with impact reporting for workforce development investments and community partnerships.
Program Measurement & Reporting
Establish and maintain key performance indicators for workforce development initiatives.
Track participation, scholarship outcomes, partnership effectiveness, talent pipeline development, and community impact.
Prepare executive reports, presentations, dashboards, and impact summaries.
Analyze workforce trends and recommend opportunities for program enhancement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Communications, business leaders, and external stakeholders to coordinate workforce development initiatives.
Collaborate with the Program Manager on employee engagement initiatives where workforce development, volunteerism, and community engagement intersect.
Support enterprise culture initiatives that strengthen Crowley's reputation as an employer of choice.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in workforce development, community relations, education partnerships, talent pipeline development, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit management, or related disciplines. Experience developing cross-sector partnerships and managing workforce or community investment programs. Experience managing grants, scholarships, or philanthropic initiatives preferred. Demonstrated success working with educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, or workforce development organizations.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, CRM, CSR, or grant management systems preferred & Data reporting and dashboard tools preferred.
