The Role:
Summary / Primary Role:
The position of Sales Manager – Intermodal will have responsibility for sales activities to achieve the company’s sales goals and objectives. The Sales Manager will develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive business growth, with a focus on acquiring new clients and maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. This role will drive sales growth in the intermodal space.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the intermodal space.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs and market trends.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to secure profitable business deals.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns that support sales efforts.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Adjust sales strategies based on performance analysis and market feedback.

Stay informed about industry developments, competitors, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Key Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales in intermodal sales.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics services.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop actionable sales plans.
Ability to travel as needed.
Proficiency in relevant software applications such as CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
