You'll sit on the team that actually moves the money. Every day, Deriv settles funds across multiple entities and dozens of payment service providers, both fiat and crypto. Client payouts, intergroup transfers, PSP top-ups and withdrawals. When a manual crypto payout has to go out today, when a crypto wallet is running low on a popular withdrawal currency, when a PSP suddenly halts cross-border settlements, your team is the one that makes the next move happen.
Why This Matters
This is hands-on operational work. You'll process settlements, calibrate wallet thresholds, coordinate with the crypto custody team on sweep configurations, and own the integrity of every transfer that leaves Deriv's books.
We're mid-build on an AI Treasury Management platform that consolidates wallet balances, recommends thresholds, and will eventually automate large parts of the settlement decision-making. The platform is already in production and getting smarter every release, but it depends on operators who understand the why behind every threshold, every sweep, every payout, and who can spot when something doesn't look right.
Settlements is also where regulatory and operational reality meets the books. Responses have to be fast, precise, and documented. The team treats every transfer with the seriousness it deserves.
Why Deriv
Our finance team is already shipping production AI. The AI Treasury Management platform you'll be testing and shaping is the same one that will eventually handle settlement decisions at scale. Your operational knowledge directly influences what gets built next.
Real money, real regulations, real consequences. We process transactions continuously across 2.5M traders and dozens of payment providers. If that's the kind of environment where you do your best work, we'd like to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Daily Settlements and Fund Movements
- Process fiat and crypto settlements across multiple entities: client payouts, intergroup funding, PSP top-ups, and bank wires
- Manual wallet funding when automated sweeps fail or aren't sufficient
- Split high-value transfers per the team's risk-mitigation procedure
- Track settlement turnaround times and validate hashes against blockchain records
Crypto Wallet Operations
- Daily monitoring of multi-chain wallet balances across stablecoins (USDT TRC20/BEP20, USDC, eUSDT) and other crypto assets
- Calibrate minimum balance thresholds for popular withdrawal currencies based on transaction trends
- Execute crypto trades to rebalance holdings, swapping between assets and chains to maintain liquidity in the right currencies for client withdrawals and operational needs
- Coordinate with the crypto custody team on sweep configurations, exposure limits, and one-off limit increases for large payouts
- Address whitelisting based on counterparty verification checks
PSP Settlement Management
- Onboard new PSPs from a settlements perspective: set up settlement instructions, calibrate min/max thresholds, document the workflow
- Manage incidents when PSPs face operational or regulatory issues (settlement halts, portal downtime, format changes), including alternative routing to maintain liquidity
- Direct communication with PSP support and account managers on settlement queries, commercial terms, and issue resolution
- AI Treasury Platform Partnership
- UAT testing on new platform features: balance recommendations, threshold calibration, audit logs, approval workflows
- Drive requirements with engineering on what the platform needs to do
- Raise and validate bugs with reproduction examples
- Help shape platform improvements from an operator's perspective
Process and Documentation
- Maintain operational documentation, settlement procedures, lead times, and PSP-specific workflows so the team isn't dependent on tribal knowledge.
Who You Are
Experience
- 3 to 5+ years in settlements, payments operations, treasury operations, or accounts operations. Fintech, trading platform, or crypto-adjacent experience is a plus, not a requirement
- You've moved real money before: bank wires, crypto, intergroup transfers, payouts at meaningful volume. You know what it feels like when something doesn't look right, and you don't dismiss the feeling
- Crypto and Payments Knowledge
- Solid working knowledge of crypto from an operational standpoint. You understand stablecoins and the major chains they live on, why USDT on different chains isn't the same thing, how to verify a transaction has been received on-chain, and what a sweep is. Hands-on experience executing crypto trades, swaps, or rebalancing across exchanges or custody platforms is a strong plus
- Working understanding of PSP and banking rails: what authorisation, settlement, fees, and reserves mean in practice
How You Work
- Detail-obsessed but operationally fast. You verify the address before clicking send. You also don't sit on a payout that needs to go out today
- Direct communicator. You raise issues clearly in Slack with the right context, tag the right people, and don't sit on problems hoping they resolve themselves
- You like AI tools and use them in your work: drafting messages, summarising long threads, automating repetitive checks. We're an AI-first finance team and you'll fit in with people who experiment
The Honest Reality
Settlements work doesn't pause. Some days are tactical: processing, sending, documenting. Other days are about driving longer-term improvements with engineering and the wider team. You'll deal with the messy edges of payment operations, and your job is to keep the money flowing while the team and the platform improve over time.
You'll inherit a mix of mature processes and things still being figured out. The pace is fast. The standard is high. But the team is supportive, the engineering partnership is real, and the AI tooling we're building is genuinely meant to make your job better, not replace your judgment.
If you want quiet, predictable work with no ambiguity, this isn't it. If you want to be on the team that actually moves the money and helps shape the AI tools that finance teams will be using five years from now, it might be.
