Full job description
At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).
Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:
Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.
Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.
Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.
About the Role
Please note: This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1 day on-site per month. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.
We're looking for ATB's next Senior Business Analyst to join our Planning, Assurance, Insights and Delivery (PLAID) team. As the Senior Business Analyst, you'll play a critical core role to drive success for the Salesforce CRM project. You'll lead the business analysis efforts for projects, which includes researching and analyzing improvement opportunities, gathering and documenting requirements, performing gap analysis, and preparing recommendations. You'll also facilitate efficiency enhancements and collaborate closely with stakeholders and project teams to ensure successful delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and exceptional business analysis capabilities to this role.
Accountabilities
End-to-End Requirements Management: Lead BA activities for complex initiatives, collaborating with business, product, project, and UX teams to define scope, map user journeys, and capture functional/non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability).
Process Improvement and Gap Analysis: Evaluate business processes and current-versus-future state architectures to identify pain points, gap areas, and opportunities for optimization.
Solution Alignment: Partner with Architects, Developers, and Testers to translate business needs into detailed technical specs, acceptance criteria, and testable requirements to ensure accurate feature delivery.
Hybrid Delivery: Drive backlog refinement and user story creation (including clear acceptance criteria), bridging high-level Waterfall planning and milestones with iterative Agile execution across core Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
Process and Data Modeling: Create data models, process flows, and traceability matrices to document systems clearly and track requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Testing and Quality Assurance: Guide and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support automated test case development to ensure solutions meet business and user expectations.
Mentorship and Best Practices: Mentor junior BAs and support the broader BA Practice through standards implementation, training on methodologies, and peer reviews of project artifacts.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
5+ years of Business Analysis experience, with a strong preference for Banking/Fintech and Salesforce/CRM environments.
Agile Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, ceremonies, and requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
AI and Modern Tech: Hands-on experience leveraging AI and GenAI tools to enhance business analysis workflows.
Communication and Facilitation: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse non-technical and executive stakeholders.
Problem Solving and Accountability: Strong analytical mindset with high drive and self-motivation to manage competing priorities, proactively mitigate risks, and deliver in complex, fast-paced environments.
Nice-to-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
Professional BA Certifications: IIBA (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, AAC) or equivalent.
Familiarity with Product Management and Organizational Change Management (OCM) frameworks.
Don’t meet all the requirements on the list? A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.
We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
What happens next? If you are shortlisted, you’ll hear from us after the posting closes. Check out our How We Hire page to learn more about our hiring process. If you need any accommodations throughout this process, please let us know at [email protected]
