We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Early Childhood Teachers (Pre-K) to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate enrichment programming for young learners. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment while implementing curriculum that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will foster a positive classroom culture, supervise students, communicate with families and school staff as needed, and ensure compliance with all BAM! and Illinois licensing requirements.
Lead engaging enrichment activities for Pre-K aged students.
Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences.
Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
Supervise and support children during all program activities.
Utilize positive behavior management techniques.
Maintain accurate attendance and program documentation.
Ensure compliance with BAM! policies and Illinois licensing requirements.
Communicate effectively with site leadership, families, and school personnel.
Support students' social-emotional growth and development.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 19 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
In addition, candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:
Option 1
60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university, including:
6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) in courses directly related to child care and/or child development from birth through age six.
Option 2
One year (1,560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed child care center; and
30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university, including:
6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) in courses directly related to child care and/or child development from birth through age six.
Option 3
Completion of one of the following Department-approved credentialing programs:
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) Credential
Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Credential Level 3 or higher; or
Infant Toddler Credential (ITC) Level 3 or higher
Passion for teaching and inspiring young learners.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with children ages 3–5.
Reliable transportation.
Valid Driver's License or State ID.
Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Current physical examination and TB test (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
Active Gateways Registry membership and proof of registration.
Ability to lift and carry approximately 20–50 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodations.
Experience working in licensed child care or early childhood education programs.
Experience implementing play-based or enrichment-focused curriculum.
Knowledge of Illinois DCFS licensing requirements.
Experience supporting social-emotional learning and behavior management.
