The Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support all people - including clients, volunteers, community partners, and staff - to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness. We offer supportive housing and addiction recovery programs that promote self-sufficiency, sustainable transformation, and stability. Job Purpose
The Hospitality Manager leads hospitality, guest experience, and campus safety services across all TRM locations, ensuring guests, volunteers, donors, staff, partners, and visitors experience a welcoming, safe, and trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervises personnel (e.g., provide coaching and consultation on technical issues and adaptive challenges, professional development, strategic goals, and job performance), ensuring ongoing support and development of effective leaders and high performing teams.
Partners with leaders across TRM to identify and resolve operational issues and concerns to improve campus culture, strengthen hospitality, accountability, and sustain operational excellence throughout the organization.
Maintains consistent visitor procedures, community standards, and safety practices across TRM campuses to ensure all guests, staff, volunteers, donors, partners, vendors, and visitors are treated with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.
Builds relationships with guests and promotes safety through visible presence, prevention, and trauma-informed de-escalation.
Responds to critical incidents and coordinates emergency response when necessary.
Oversees campus safety systems, equipment, inspections, and incident documentation.
Ensures compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, and applicable regulations.
Embodies the values that form our culture to meet the organization’s mission of sharing God’s love, hope, and support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities.
Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
Working Conditions
Frequent travel between TRM campuses.
Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Frequent interaction with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and crisis situations.
Evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities may occasionally be required.
Exposure to emotionally demanding situations that requires professionalism, sound judgment, and compassion.

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Criminal Justice, or related field.
3+ years of management and supervisory experience preferred.
Experience working with or serving alongside marginalized communities.
Demonstrated commitment to cultural responsiveness.
Experience leading teams in hospitality, guest services, nonprofit operations, shelter services, security, customer service, or related fields.
Experience implementing trauma-informed care in client program setting required.
Effective de-escalation skills.
Ability to work in and effectively respond to a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Capacity to accomplish multiple tasks within a short time.
Skilled in clear and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication.
Basic operating knowledge of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft Office Suites.
Proficient analytical skills, including competency in basic math/statistics and reporting program outcomes.

Operates personal vehicle for frequent travel throughout Pierce County and TRM locations, for functions relevant to this position.
Operates TRM vehicles for the purpose of fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
Meets TRM Driver Requirements (Valid Driver’s License, Evidence of Insurability, acceptable driving record, and successful completion of TRM driving test).
