Provides nursing services and medical assessments for clients in crisis stabilization, including medication administration and transcription of physician orders. Coordinates healthcare services with community resources and supervises unit operations in the absence of other supervisors.
Requires a valid Registered Nurse license from the State of Virginia and an associate degree or higher in nursing. Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with individuals with serious mental illnesses.
Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Clinical Services, provides varied nursing services for clients receiving crises stabilization services. Ensures that professional medical standards are maintained throughout service area. Monitors and supports the health care provided to clients to assure compliance with regulatory requirements governing the service such as human support and administrative work administering daily medications, providing daily medical assessments, ordering medications, managing medication administration records, transcribing doctor’s orders, may draw blood, documenting activities, attending clinical staffing and training meetings, and related work as apparent or assigned. Performs all work safely, in accordance with the highest professional ethical standards, and in alignment with Saint Joseph’s Villa mission, values, and guiding principles.
Valid licensure by the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. Current certification in pharmacology. Not under disciplinary restrictions by the State of Virginia’s Board of Nursing. Proficient with Windows, Outlook, MS Word and Excel, internet research.
