Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) has immediate openings for a 3rd shift PRN, Registered Nurses to support clients experiencing mental health crises at our brand new Crisis Receiving Center (RC) — a first-of-its-kind initiative providing rapid response, short-term stabilization, and coordinated follow-up for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. our 3rd shift hours are 7:00pm - 7:00am

In addition to the hourly rate of pay, the following shift differential will be applied to your offered hourly rate if your shift falls into any of the following:
The Hamilton County RC is a unique and innovative model designed to provide an alternative to emergency rooms or incarceration for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This exciting project is a partnership with local law enforcement, aimed at providing rapid intervention and quality care for individuals facing behavioral health crises.

Position Responsibilities:
Triage and complete medical and psychiatric assessments
Monitor withdrawal symptoms and administer medications
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to stabilize clients
Maintain accurate, real-time documentation
Promote trauma-informed care and maintain safety standards
Position Requirements:
Active RN license in Ohio
Experience in mental health, addiction treatment, or crisis care strongly preferred
Strong teamwork, empathy, and problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods (up to 12hr shifts)
Must be physically able to participate in appropriate and approved crisis management techniques.
Adequate hearing and vision to assess patient behavior, respond to alarms, and observe
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment that may include exposure to unpredictable behaviors.
Must possess the physical and mental endurance to respond to prolonged crises or emergencies without a decline in performance or judgment

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) is the most comprehensive mental health agency in the tri-state region serving adults with mental illness, addiction and related challenges. GCBHS is fully certified, nationally accredited, and is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization. GCBHS’ skilled staff provides an extensive and wide-ranging network of services for its clients, over 40% of whom have been diagnosed with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. About 50% have been diagnosed with a mood disorder such as major depression or bipolar disorder.
