Traffic Control Agents duties include providing traffic control, enforcement of parking regulations, and effective customer service to the public and visitors. Agents are expected to interact professionally and appropriately as representatives of the Airport.
Essential functions:
Safely direct the traffic flow in front of the terminal buildings, concourses, and other areas throughout the airport.
Ability to provide information to the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
Communicate effectively and work with difficult people in high-stress situations.
Respond to public requests for service.
Identify and report criminal activities.
Anticipate customer needs and provide guidance in a professional manner.
Analyze customer situations and make decisions on circumstances in relation to airport rules.
Ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinances.
Assist in traffic control at accidents and special events.
Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions.
Position Requirements:
Must possess a current Florida state issued ID or Driver's License.
High school diploma or GED.
Class D-Security License accepted not required.
Minimum of (1) years’ experience in Customer Service.
Positive, and safety-conscious attitude.
Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Clear and articulate written and oral communication skills in English.
Able to communicate through radio effectively.
Qualifications:
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Traffic Control Officers.
Participate in industry-specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best-trained officers at their airports.
Agents report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
Candidates who are offered employment will be required to pass a background check and obtain an Airport ID badge.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work outdoors (walking, standing, directing traffic, etc.) in all weather conditions for a prolonged period.
High level of stamina that includes standing and walking on cement and various surfaces for extended periods of time.
Working Environment:
Wear a required uniform.
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and environments with exposure to dust, dirt, and loud noises.
Works under conditions that may contain dust, dirt and continual noise that is below OSHA’s action level.
