Work Model: You’ll work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location, with flexibility to work remotely.

Nature and Scope of Role

This software developer will be a member of our global Functional Safety Software Team with a focus on Software Quality Assurance (SQA). The primary responsibility is to develop unit and integration tests that prove proper operation according to safety standards.

The developer must have the ability to inspect and understand product code written in C, then to write software which will test the product code. These tests prove the correct operation of a software module or interface. They are executed regularly within an automated test system to protect against defects.

The product is responsible for ensuring human safety in machines where life and limb are at risk. Extreme attention to detail and integrity are a must for all team members!

This developer must gain deep knowledge of our product, safe encoders, Functional Safety Standards, and the automated test system. The global team includes software and hardware developers as well as system testers and software quality developers. Great communication and collaboration are critical for great teamwork between the distributed members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Gain deep knowledge of functional safety and of the product code being tested.
• Write automated tests to prove correct operation of critical software.
• Maintain automated build scripts and manage continuous integration processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve failing tests.

Other Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure correct operation of functional safety features.
• Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.

Responsibilities will scale with experience. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in test systems, hardware troubleshooting, or automation environments.

Additional Skills of Interest

• Hands-on experience with embedded systems and PC-based software testing.
• Experience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD integration.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
