Description
Travel Requirement: As needed, up to 50%
Security Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Sherpa 6 is seeking an experienced Senior Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-sUAS) Systems Integrator to provide direct technical and program support to government capability managers in the National Capital Region.
This is a senior systems-integration role for a technically versatile professional who can bring together sensors, command-and-control systems, networks, data feeds, cyber capabilities, and defeat systems to deliver cohesive, operational C-sUAS capabilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with government capability managers, military operators, engineers, acquisition stakeholders, original equipment manufacturers, software developers, and system vendors. The role focuses on identifying integration gaps, solving complex technical challenges, supporting operational evaluations, and moving individual technologies from standalone components to effective systems of systems.
Role and Responsibilities
Serve as a senior technical advisor to government C-sUAS capability managers.
Translate operational challenges and mission requirements into executable technical and integration activities.
Develop and maintain C-UXS mission threads, use cases, system requirements, interface requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Integrate sensors, command-and-control systems, networks, data services, effectors, and supporting software.
Analyze and troubleshoot data flows, component connectivity, protocols, timing, configurations, and interoperability issues.
Support integration across air, ground, surface, and subsurface unmanned-system threat sets.
Coordinate technical activities across government organizations, OEMs, software developers, and system vendors.
Evaluate vendor capabilities, technical approaches, integration readiness, and proposed solutions.
Develop system architectures, data-flow diagrams, interface-control documentation, configuration baselines, and integration records.
Support network connectivity, data exchange, cybersecurity, access, and system-hardening activities within the authorized scope.
Plan and support laboratory, field, and operational test events.
Develop test objectives, scenarios, measures of performance, measures of effectiveness, test cards, and pass/fail criteria.
Support system setup, test execution, troubleshooting, data collection, and daily operational reporting.
Analyze test results, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and verify issue closure.
Gather feedback from military operators and assess operational suitability, usability, and mission effectiveness.
Develop leadership briefings, executive summaries, technical recommendations, courses of action, and decision-support materials.
Support acquisition, fielding, sustainment, and configuration-management decisions.
Maintain integration backlogs, technical action trackers, capability-gap registers, risk registers, and configuration records.
Provide technical continuity as C-UXS technologies, threats, operational requirements, and vendor solutions evolve.
Requirements
Active Top Secret security clearance.
8+ years of relevant experience in systems integration, military operations, engineering, communications, C-UXS, electronic warfare, robotics, autonomous systems, or a related technical field.
Demonstrated experience integrating multiple hardware and software components into an operational system.
Working knowledge of counter-unmanned-system mission areas, including detection, identification, classification, tracking, command and control, and defeat.
Experience troubleshooting system interfaces, data flows, networks, APIs, protocols, or component-connectivity issues.
Ability to translate operational requirements into technical tasks, integration plans, and measurable deliverables.
Experience supporting military operators, government program offices, capability managers, or acquisition organizations.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and resolve technical issues involving multiple vendors and government stakeholders.
Experience planning or supporting laboratory, field, or operational test events.
Ability to develop clear technical documentation, leadership briefings, executive summaries, and decision-support products.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-moving environment with limited direction.
Ability to work primarily on-site within the National Capital Region.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to support integration, testing, fielding, exercises, and operational events.
Eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
Preferred Experience:
Current TS/SCI access.
Direct operational or technical experience with C-UXS capabilities.
Counter-air, counter-ground, counter-surface, or counter-subsurface unmanned-system missions.
Integration of sensors and effectors with command-and-control platforms.
Tactical networks, tactical data links, TAK environments, military communications systems, and edge-computing architectures.
REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, message brokers, data schemas, and system-to-system interfaces.
Modular open systems approaches and government reference architectures.
Development of systems-engineering artifacts, including requirements traceability matrices, interface-control documents, system architectures, test plans, and configuration baselines.
Rapid acquisition, prototyping, experimentation, operational assessments, or urgent capability fielding.
Cybersecurity, system hardening, identity management, and data-protection requirements in government environments.
Military experience in air defense, aviation, fires, communications, intelligence, electronic warfare, special operations, maritime operations, or unmanned systems.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant military and technical experience may be considered in place of a degree.
