The Correctional Officer is responsible for the custody, discipline, and supervision of inmates to ensure facility security. They must also perform security functions, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate records in compliance with facility directives.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and successfully complete the TDCJ-approved Correctional Officer Training program. A valid driver's license is required, and specific endorsements may be necessary for transportation duties.
Work schedule: Full-time; 12-hour shift (day 6am-6pm or night 6pm-6am); Bi-weekly schedule with 3-day weekend off every other weekend.
What you’ll do: Responsible for the custody and discipline of Inmates in the facility in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives. If assigned to transport, will be responsible for the transporting of Inmates to and from the facility in accordance with established procedures.
Essential Functions:
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
