Provide high-quality prehospital paramedic patient care and clinical support services in accordance with state law and hospital policies. Manage quality improvement programs and coordinate continuing medical education for EMS providers.
Requires a high school diploma or BA in Emergency Medicine and at least 3 years of EMS experience. Must be a certified Paramedic in Pennsylvania or a Pre Hospital Registered Nurse (PHRN) with Medic Command eligibility.
The UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine is looking to hire a Casual Advanced Response Specialist to support Prehospital Services.
Provide prehospital / paramedic patient care and clinical support services in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as state law, to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care can be maintained at all times. Assist in Prehospital Care educational programs. Assist in Prehospital Care QI programs. Assist in outreach to EMS agencies.
Responsibilities:
Suggest and support changes within the Paramedic Response Team. Assume responsibility for assignment and views problems as challenges. Demonstrate awareness of behavior on the efficient functioning of the hospital and surrounding communities

Successful completion of mandatory education provided by UPMC Health System. Microcomputer experience preferred. Successful completion of basic information system training is mandatory. Professional verbal and written communication is essential.Customer service skills are essential.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Medic Command (currently employed on the Response Team) or eligibility to receive medic command (new hires) is required. Instructor certification in trauma life support, ACLS, BCLS, and PALS preferred.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
