Join us as a Scientist and put your passion for science to work in our environmental testing laboratory. In this role, you’ll conduct hands-on analysis within our laboratories, helping ensure the integrity and quality of environmental data that impacts communities and ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
Perform, support, and oversee the analysis of air, water, and soil samples using established EPA methodologies for dioxin and PCB analyses.
Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation to support high-quality analytical testing.
Review, interpret, and reduce complex analytical data, ensuring compliance with method requirements, quality control criteria, and laboratory standards.
Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain organized and defensible laboratory records.
Investigate analytical issues, evaluate instrument performance, and assist with corrective actions to ensure data quality and laboratory efficiency.
Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain compliance with regulatory, quality assurance, and safety requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred:
2+ years of experience operating and maintaining mass spectrometry-based analytical instrumentation in a production, environmental, industrial, academic, or research laboratory setting.
Experience reviewing, interpreting, and reducing analytical data generated from mass spectrometry systems.
Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems, analytical methodologies, and data integrity requirements.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills with a focus on producing accurate, defensible results.
Experience with High Resolution GC/High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRGC/HRMS) is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates with relevant mass spectrometry experience.
