Senior Production Artist - Homebased - Mexico
ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation united by a mission to bring new medicines and treatments to patients faster.
As a values-driven organisation, integrity, collaboration, agility, and inclusion are at the heart of how we work and interact with each other, customers, patients and suppliers.
The Senior Production Artist is a highly skilled production and layout specialist responsible for developing, formatting, and delivering complex scientific communications materials, with a primary focus on high-volume scientific poster production for medical congresses. This role serves as a subject matter expert in scientific poster production and production workflows, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all deliverables. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Senior Production Artist provides technical expertise, production guidance, and innovative solutions while supporting studio-wide production initiatives, print-ready file packaging, and process improvements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
Lead the production, formatting, and layout of scientific posters, clinical trial deliverables, and other scientific communications materials utilizing expert-level Adobe InDesign skills.
Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Prepare, review, and package final production files for print and digital distribution, including preflight checks and release activities.
Conduct comprehensive quality control reviews to ensure compliance with client, regulatory, editorial, and congress-specific requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to provide technical expertise, production guidance, and solutions to complex formatting challenges.
Serve as a production subject matter expert while driving process improvements through the development and maintenance of InDesign templates, libraries, style sheets, workflows, quality standards, and production best practices.
Your Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
6+ years of experience as a Production Artist, Senior Production Artist, or in a related production-focused role with experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical communications, scientific publishing, or agency environments preferred.
Demonstrated experience producing high-volume scientific posters, figure redraws, and other scientific communications deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.
Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign and advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) including complex document formatting, style sheets, templates, and production workflows.
Advanced knowledge of print production, file preparation, quality assurance processes, and release packaging activities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Portfolio demonstrating expertise in scientific poster production, complex document formatting, and publication-ready deliverables; flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend work during peak congress periods.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve production, formatting, and quality issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and client groups.
