GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating and managing all partnership activities and other business development opportunities as they pertain to fare programming and other marketable assets, as well as representing the KCATA internally and externally regarding those functionalities. This role will work with other departments and teams to deliver service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Oversees fare related programming, as it pertains to external partnerships with businesses, universities and educational institutions, governments and non-profit/non-governmental organizations.
Manages coordination of the partnership proposals and needs with the Transportation, Finance, and Economic Development, and Marketing/Communications departments.
Serves as liaison between the Authority and external revenue partners.
Represents the Authority at public meetings, public hearings, and other transportation related events.
Oversees and directs responses to partnership inquiries and opportunities.
Oversees partnerships efforts as it pertains to the business development regarding advertising space, economic development opportunities, specialized mobility services and other marketable assets.
Manages department projects. Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to and in conjunction with the operations of the department.
Coordinates with C-suite Executives to understand Authority direction, objectives and goals, and to conform the Partnerships department to that direction and achieve noted objectives and goals, and to conform the Partnerships department to that direction and achieve noted objectives and goals.
Coordinates with Senior Leadership to ensure that the Partnerships department is well coordinated with other departments’ work tasks and efforts.
Develops and coordinates new initiatives to educate professional community on KCATA’s goals and development initiatives, to develop positive reception and increase interest.
Coordinates communications with outside partners as related to external campaign efforts and advocacy awareness.
Develop and manage KCATA collegiate internship program, to establish and grow transit professional pipeline with regional colleges and universities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (2 or more full-time employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Position has significant fiscal responsibility. Is responsible for department-wide financial decisions, such as establishing budgets, cost estimates, service scenario models, etc. Assures that appropriate linkages exist between budget requests and departmental goals and objectives. Monitors budget plan and adjust as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Business, or a related field.
Three (3) years of related work experience in transit, project management and business-to-government sales/partnerships.
Three (3) years or more of department supervision experience or project team lead; a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams.
An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Will work in a normal office environment. Will sometimes be required to work and/or attend meetings or events in public and at all RideKC locations.
Monday through Friday 8am until 5pm.
Occasional abnormal hours are expected and required for specific events and to reach all employees.
TRAVEL
Travel within the metropolitan area will be required.
Occasional travel outside of the region may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards and is generally sedentary. Incumbents may be required to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
