Overview
The Pediatric Injury Preventionist is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence based programs that reduce unintentional injuries among infants, children, and adolescents. This role works collaboratively with clinical teams, community partners, and families to promote safety, prevent trauma, and improve pediatric health outcomes. The position serves as a -based programs that reduce unintentional injuries among infants, children, and adolescents.The position serves as a subject-matter expert in pediatric injury prevention and supports data-driven initiatives that address leading causes of childhood injury

If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
Responsibilities
Collaborates on the development, implementation, and delivery of comprehensive, evidence based pediatric injury prevention programs that promote child safety across diverse populations and care settings.
Supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of injury related data to guide program priorities, demonstrate outcomes, and support continuous quality improvement across injury prevention initiatives.
Provides education, training, and guidance to clinical teams and community partners to advance best practices in pediatric injury prevention and consistent safety messaging.
Ensures all injury prevention activities comply with accreditation and regulatory standards while maintaining current expertise in pediatric safety research and upholding organizational and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Social Work, Public Health, Health Education, or related clinical field. and 1-2 years experience Experience working with pediatric populations or trauma services, community outreach or injury prevention programming required. Data analysis, grant funding, or public health initiative experience preferred. or
Associate's Degree and 3-5 years experience Experience working with pediatric populations or trauma services, community outreach or injury prevention programming required. Data analysis, grant funding, or public health initiative experience preferred.
HS diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years experience Experience working with pediatric populations or trauma services, community outreach or injury prevention programming required. Data analysis, grant funding, or public health initiative experience preferred.
Child Passenger Safety Technician
Employees must obtain Child Passenger Safety Technician or equivalent within 180 days
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Required 180 Days

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $21.72/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
