About the team :
Join Walmart’s Brokerge Platform team, you will work with some of the brightest engineers and architects to solve large-scale, mission-critical transportation challenges to leverage Walmart’s supply chain network.
We are building next-generation Scheduling, Pricing, Bidding, Carrier Assignment, Tracking platforms that support Walmart’s Brokerage Business.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot

• Build and maintain distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka

• Deliver features end-to-end from development through production deployment

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and architects to solve complex logistics challenges

• Ensure systems meet non-functional requirements such as performance, reliability, and scalability

• Participate in CI/CD processes, code reviews, and engineering best practices

• Support systems in production through on-call rotations

What You’ll bring :

• 3-7 years of backend engineering experience

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot

• Experience building scalable microservices

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka preferred)

• Understanding of distributed systems and system design

• Experience working in CI/CD environments (Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)

• Well versed with Testing frameworks like JUnit, Mocha, TestNG & Selenium

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure

• Experience with databases: NoSQL (Cosmos DB preferred & Relational databases (Azure SQL or similar)

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver high-quality solutions

• Familiarity with AI / LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic)

• Solid understanding of core AI and LLM concepts ( Training vs. inference, Tokens and embeddings, Prompt vs. model vs. context, Hallucinations and bias, Determinism vs. temperature and other generation parameters)
