ABOUT QUINCE
Quince is a destination for builders, creators, innovators, and operators who want to come together and challenge the status quo. Our mission is simple: make really high quality essentials for really low prices, fairly and sustainably. We deliver on that mission through a unique manufacturer-to-consumer (M2C) model eliminating the layers of traditional retail that add cost and result in consumers paying more than they need to. We find, build relationships with, and work directly with the manufacturing partners behind some of the world’s finest products. From there, our teams design smart, efficient operational processes and build and deploy proprietary technology, AI, and analytics to help us scale fast.
What began with a small assortment of elevated basics has quickly grown into a cross-category brand spanning apparel, accessories, home goods, and more. Today, tens of millions of people across a growing number of countries come – and return – to Quince because they trust us to deliver.
OUR CULTURE
Quince is a culture built for builders by builders. Our way of working starts with a blank sheet of paper. We question conventional thinking, use technology and data to uncover new opportunities, and move quickly to turn ideas into reality. We aren’t interested in replicating how others do retail. We’re building a better way – at a speed and scale unlike anything that’s been done before.
We dream big and chase the hard problems others shy away from. Rejecting long-held assumptions is part of our company's DNA. Where conventional wisdom says you have to choose – soft or durable, speed or rigor, quality or price – we ask why that trade-off has to exist in the first place.
Our pace is fast and the bar is high because our customers expect a lot from us and we refuse to let them down. We believe the best results come from challenging ourselves, learning from one another, and building on each other's strengths.
Here, responsibility is not determined by role, tenure, or seniority. Every team member - no matter their level - has the opportunity to drive our business and shape our trajectory.
If you’re someone who likes to imagine new possibilities and build better systems rather than plug-in to outdated ones, Quince is the place for you.
THE ROLE
The Merchandising Manager, Seasonal Decor & Faux Plants role is responsible for delighting Quince’s growing customer base by expanding and managing the Seasonal Decor & Botanicals product assortment on Quince.
At Quince, we believe that everyone deserves access to high quality products at radically affordable prices. We believe the marketplace for consumer products is inundated with too many options, and customers find product quality difficult to determine and yet frequently pay more for a variety of things that can be delivered at much lower prices. Our goal is to find the best products in the marketplace and connect the makers of these goods directly to the customers who want them.
Quince has proven the consumer value proposition and has built a loyal, repeat consumer base. We want to build on that value proposition and continue to scale in both existing and new product categories. This merchant leading Seasonal Decor & Botanicals will be responsible for managing the assortment, revenue and margins, and overall growth trajectory of that product category.
Quince's growth and success is directly tied to the performance and success of this role. The person in this role will be an innovator at heart leveraging the attributes below to build and run our emerging categories strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the Seasonal Decor & Botanicals assortment strategy, ensuring the category delivers on Quince’s promise of exceptional quality at accessible prices
Rapidly scale our seasonal decor assortment beyond Christmas decor and launch new product types in year one, including floral stems & branches, botanicals & trees, seasonal wreaths, holiday textiles, and seasonal hosting essentials
Lead sample feedback and approvals for all new and resourced products (product approvals may require ~5-10% time spent traveling overseas)
Leverage data and customer insights to build assortment architecture, optimize, and scale the assortment — analyzing performance, refining product mix, and making evidence-based decisions – to meet customer needs and achieve financial goals (revenue, margin, inventory health, return rate, etc.)
Continuously identify whitespace in the assortment and refine product roadmap based on new information and learnings
Leveraging data for ratings, reviews, and return rates, conduct quality improvements for any products in assortment with improvement opportunities
Partner closely with Sourcing to identify and develop new products, with a focus on performance, sustainability, and the highest quality materials and craftsmanship
Collaborate with marketing, site, and creative teams to ensure compelling product launches and storytelling that reflect brand positioning
Lead cross-functional collaboration, serving as the category expert and advocate for the customer
Operate as a structured, data-driven decision maker while balancing the art and science of merchandising
Serve as a strong communicator and cross-functional partner in driving category success
REQUIREMENTS
Role is based in San Francisco California, with 3 days per week in office requirement.
8-10 years of retail merchandising experience in the home decor/seasonal decor category, ideally with luxury expertise
Proven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilities
Product obsessed with experience in leveraging data tools and external sources
Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the “science” and “art” of retail merchandising)
Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes and brand enhancement
Continuous learner and highly curious; always open to considering new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challenges
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Motivated by working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team success
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred

Quince is a consumer technology platform rebuilding retail from the infrastructure up.
The company began with a towel. A hotel-grade towel retailed for roughly $80. The manufacturing partner who made it sold it for about $7. Nothing about the product justified the gap. The gap was the system.
Quince was built to replace that system. Its proprietary Manufacturer-to-Consumer (M2C) platform connects customers directly to the manufacturing partners behind some of the best-made products in the world, with demand signals flowing back to partners weekly so production follows what customers are actually buying, not a year-old forecast. No promotional calendar, no inventory built on guesses, no layered costs priced into the product.
What differentiates Quince is not pricing. It is the system. The proof is in how the company operates: cost breakdowns published on product pages, a 365-day return policy, third-party lab testing, and products removed from the assortment at Quince's cost when they fall below the quality bar. Because the platform produces against real demand, the excess inventory that defines conventional retail is never made. Responsibility is built into the model, not added on top of it.
Today, Quince offers curated essentials across 100+ categories, from cashmere and linen to fine jewelry and furniture, at prices typically 50 to 70 percent below comparable market prices, and is one of the fastest-growing consumer platforms in the industry.
