Mount Sinai Health System seeks an exceptional detail-oriented development professional to support the growing gift planning program. The Development Officer will report to Senior Director of, Development-Legacy Gifts and will support the efforts of the program.
This role operates within a hybrid work model, with on-site expectations established in alignment with departmental priorities and evolving organizational guidelines. Employees must reside within a commutable distance of the 42nd Street Midtown NYC office. The role may also require occasional evening or weekend hours.

Responsibilities
Support the Office of Development’s growing gift planning program to raise both current and deferred funds for the Mount Sinai Health System.
Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward a modest portfolio of prospective donors for planned gifts, annual gifts and major gifts under the supervision of the Senior Director of Development-Legacy Gifts.
Provide administrative support and project management for marketing and promotion of planned giving initiatives, planned giving donor stories and website maintenance and monitoring of planned giving shared email box.
Edit and format written planned giving documents such as collateral, newsletters, web site content, gift agreements, talking points, briefings, personalized donor acknowledgments as well as other correspondence as directed.
Draft correspondence, and prepare/coordinate in house mailings to Legacy Society members and prospects.
Ensure Legacy Society members are coded appropriately in database.
Welcome and thank new Legacy Society members. This includes reviewing and updating welcome materials and ensuring timely acknowledgment of all new Legacy Society members.
Creating strategies and communicate with Legacy Society members so they feel appreciated for their support and feel connected to the institution until the time their gift is fulfilled.
Raisers Edge Prospect/Portfolio Management: Update and maintain all moves management information related to Legacy Society members as well as prospect base including entering contact reports, adding and updating proposals, entering future/anticipated actions, maintaining all data/coding related to the several reports most frequently used in tracking and measuring donor moves management.
Assist the SDOD with estate and trust administration.
Assist with scheduling and coordinating logistics related to donor cultivation and stewardship events.
Foster positive and professional working relationships with all staff.
Assist with special projects asassigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree.
3 years work experience, preferably working in an office setting, in fundraising, customer service, legal or marketing
Minimum Computer Skills
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment
Ability to learn fund-raising database; Raiser's Edge experience preferred
Basic knowledge of AI tools

Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $68,179.74 - $76,960.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
