Engineer Principal – Compressed Air Purification (APAC)

The Engineer Principal is responsible for developing and executing standard and engineered Compressed Air Purification Solutions for the APAC region, working closely with global engineering teams, regional sales, and manufacturing partners to deliver high-quality, customer-centric solutions.

The position leads to the engineering execution of customized customer projects, including technical solution development, design validation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery that meets both customer needs and Donaldson's quality standards.

Role Responsibilities:

• Adapt and localize existing global products and system designs to meet APAC customer, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop engineered solutions for Compressed Air Purification Applications.
• Translate customer requirements into technical designs and specifications.
• Lead technical project execution, including planning, coordination, timeline, and cost management.
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials for system solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Support root cause analysis and resolution of customer issues and product quality concerns.
• Maintain and continuously improve standard products through engineering change and lifecycle management processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel within APAC (up to 15%).

Key Qualifications:

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Relevant Experience

• 8 years of experience in an industrial engineering role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Technical Competence & Skills:

• Experience in adapting global product designs to meet regional market, regulatory, or manufacturing requirements.
• Experience translating customer requirements into technical solutions and engineering specifications.
• Experience with 3D CAD design and engineering documentation.
• Experience with Solid Edge, Teamcenter, and engineering change management processes.
• Working knowledge of pressure equipment, filtration systems, compressed air systems, industrial gas systems, or comparable industrial products is a PLUS.
• Knowledge of APAC customer requirements, regulations, and manufacturing practices.

Leadership Skills:

• Strong project coordination, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Others (% of travel, language, etc.):

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Able to travel up to 20%-25% locally and regionally
