The Compliance Lawyer will manage global compliance programs, focusing on financial crime, AML, and sanctions within the Office of General Counsel. They will also monitor regulatory developments, prepare compliance reports, and provide legal guidance to firm staff and clients.
Candidates must hold a law degree and be a qualified lawyer, preferably in England & Wales, with 3-4 years of post-qualified experience in financial crime compliance. Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and experience managing global compliance projects in an international law firm environment are required.

The Compliance Lawyer is an integral part of Latham’s Office of General Counsel (“OGC”). The OGC Compliance Team is responsible for managing the firm’s global compliance programs to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions where the firm operates. This role will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance for firm compliance programs at the global, local, and team levels, particularly in the areas of financial crime, including Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) and sanctions. This role will be located in our London or Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
