Responsibilities
Define and embed best-in-class information management strategies across live projects to ensure coordinated design and construction data. Lead a team of specialists to manage core IM outputs and integrate data flows across the supply chain to reduce rework.
Requirements
Requires a degree in engineering, construction, architecture, or equivalent experience with a strong working knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM principles. Candidates must have experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale, regulated infrastructure projects.
Full job description
Role: BIM Manager
Locations: Hybrid working with one of the following closest locations as primary: Derby, Warrington or Manchester
Our mission
Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) provides a British solution to a global energy crisis. We are in pole position to become a world leader in SMRs and the UK’s premier green export technology.
The team
The Engineering function is central to delivering our SMR programme, bringing together design, construction and digital expertise to solve complex, safety-critical challenges. Within this, our Information Management capability is transforming how data, BIM and delivery integrate—ensuring that information is trusted, accessible and drives right-first-time outcomes across the lifecycle.
Role summary
In this context, we are looking for a BIM Manager – Projects, reporting to a Senior Information Manager. Leading a growing team of BIM and Information specialists, this role will define and embed best-in-class information management across live projects—ensuring that design, construction and supply chain data is coordinated, assured and optimised to enable predictable, high-quality delivery.
What you’ll help deliver
We’ll need you to:
Shaping and delivering Information Management and BIM strategies aligned to programme and project delivery requirements
Establishing, leading and scaling a project-focused Information Management team, aligned to delivery milestones
Owning core IM outputs including EIR, BEP, AIR and MIDP, ensuring they are proportionate, clear and deliverable
Integrating data flows across design, construction and supply chain partners, improving construction readiness and reducing rework
You’ll also act as a key interface across clients, partners and internal teams—ensuring information is treated as a critical delivery asset rather than a standalone digital output.
What you’ll bring
This is a pivotal role within a complex, highly regulated programme. You’ll bring a delivery-first mindset, natural credibility with senior stakeholders, and the ability to embed new approaches that improve how information enables engineering and construction outcomes.
Skills & experience
A degree in engineering, construction, architecture or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with further BIM or Information Management development advantageous
We’ll ask you about your experience delivering BIM and information management across large-scale, regulated infrastructure or construction projects
Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650, BIM principles and Common Data Environments (e.g. ACC, Asite, SharePoint), applied pragmatically in live project environments
Experience leading teams and influencing across multidisciplinary functions, including design, delivery, commercial and supply chain
Location
We offer flexible and hybrid working, with the expectation to attend an RR-SMR site as required to support collaboration, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.
What’s in it for you
We anticipate paying a salary of between £60,000-£78,750
Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 7%
Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
£250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
Selection process
The process will include an initial conversation with Talent Acquisition, followed by two interview stages.
As part of our offer process, you’ll be required to complete BPSS clearance, DBS screening and standard financial probity checks. This role is also subject to export control restrictions.
Our commitment to inclusion
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Inclusivity is central to how we operate, and as a Disability Confident organisation, we are committed to fair, supportive and continually improving recruitment practices.
We are happy to discuss flexible and part-time working, and will make workplace adjustments where needed to support you at your best.
