In this role, you'll:
Reporting to the Director Development Planning , The Senior Manager, Planning and Property Coordination is responsible for leading the strategic planning, prioritisation and delivery of a statewide portfolio of residual, surplus and underutilised properties, ensuring these assets achieve optimal development, enhancement and divestment outcomes.
You will oversee property pipeline management, clearance and due diligence activities, driving properties efficiently through planning, approvals and readiness processes while maximising value, mitigating risk and supporting broader government and organisational objectives.
You will be providing leadership across stakeholder engagement, governance and property enhancement initiatives, the position ensures alignment with Transport’s long-term property, operational and financial strategies, delivering sustainable and commercially sound property outcomes.
Key accountabilities include:
Lead and deliver a statewide property clearance and due diligence pipeline, ensuring residual, surplus and underutilised assets progress efficiently through planning, approvals and readiness activities to achieve development, enhancement and divestment outcomes.
Drive strategic property portfolio management by maintaining a sustainable pipeline aligned with organisational priorities, operational requirements and long-term government and business objectives.
Oversee complex property programs to ensure delivery within approved scope, budget, timelines and quality standards, supported by effective governance, performance reporting and continuous improvement practices.
Develop and implement property readiness and enhancement strategies that maximise asset value, remove development constraints, identify opportunities and support successful property outcomes across the portfolio.
Lead stakeholder engagement, risk management and compliance by collaborating with government agencies, councils, industry partners and internal stakeholders, while ensuring adherence to legislative, environmental and governance requirements and proactively managing portfolio risks and opportunities.
You have demonstrated success in leading large-scale, complex property clearance and due diligence programs across geographically dispersed portfolios, balancing competing priorities, tight timeframes and budget constraints while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
You bring a strong track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in property strategies, governance frameworks and delivery models to maximise asset value and support development, enhancement and divestment opportunities. Experienced in managing complex stakeholder relationships, you effectively engage and negotiate across government agencies, industry partners and community stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
You are skilled at navigating planning, environmental, legal, commercial and operational constraints, proactively mitigating risks and resolving challenges that may impact project feasibility, timing or value.
You will demonstrate the ability to balance immediate delivery requirements with long-term strategic property, operational and financial objectives ensuring alignment with broader organisational asset management and portfolio strategies.
This position will be based two days a week at 680 George Street, Sydney and one day a week in 7 Harvest Street, Macquarie Park.
