The Director is responsible for the clinical governance, performance, and overall coordination of the Emergency Department to ensure safe and effective service delivery. This includes leading change initiatives, mentoring junior medical officers, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Candidates must hold a primary medical degree registrable by AHPRA and a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM). Extensive clinical experience in public or private emergency medicine and proven leadership capabilities are required.

The Director of Emergency Medicine is responsible for delivering a high‑performing, safe, and effective Emergency Department service. The role oversees the overall coordination, performance, and clinical governance of the department, ensuring that standards of practice are consistently monitored and maintained. A key priority is fostering a safe environment for both patients and staff.
In addition, the Director leads and implements change initiatives to drive continuous improvement and achieve agreed clinical and operational outcomes within the service.
