WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over 500 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. Our organization places a high value on quality, caring and compassionate physicians and we are committed to providing state-of-the-art health care to our patients and the community we serve.
We are seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our established Pediatric Pulmonology division in Wake County, North Carolina. The WakeMed Pediatric Pulmonology program started in September 2019. Our team currently consists of one physician, two nurse practitioners, RN care coordinator, respiratory therapists, and other support staff. It is planned to expand the division to consist of five providers, including a sleep physician, as well as APP support. This is a clinical position providing outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopic coverage. The division provides comprehensive care for children with respiratory problems, including outpatient clinic and inpatient consultative support for the WakeMed Children’s Hospital and emergency department, pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and pediatric bronchoscopy. Call coverage and clinical responsibilities will be shared among physicians.

EMR – EPIC for both inpatient and outpatient
Medical student and resident teaching opportunities with adjunct academic appointments available
Community outreach opportunities with local general pediatric offices
Highly efficient endoscopy suite and anesthesia support
Spirometry and FeNO services in outpatient clinics
Body plethysmography and cardiopulmonary exercise stress test support available
Support for biologics for severe asthma available
Clinic locations – Raleigh, Clayton, Apex
The position reports directly to the Director of Pediatric Subspecialties and supports the mission, values, and management of WPP. Qualified candidates must be currently board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Pulmonology.
