The RN provides comprehensive nursing care in an outpatient setting, including patient assessments and the implementation of individualized care plans. Key duties involve administering medications, performing minor clinical procedures, and educating patients and their families.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Texas RN license, BLS certification, and at least one year of outpatient experience. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and two years of healthcare experience are preferred.
The Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Specialties provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction. Reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, the RN collaborates closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and administrative staff. Key responsibilities include patient assessments, administering medications, coordinating care plans, and educating patients and their families.
Patient Assessment and Care Planning
Conducts initial patient assessments and obtains medical histories.
Develops and implements individualized care plans.
Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as needed.
Medication Administration
Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
Ensures proper dosage and compliance with treatment regimens.
Monitors patients for adverse reactions and reports findings.
Patient Education
Educates patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options.
Provides guidance on self-care techniques and preventive health measures.
Conducts follow-up education sessions as needed.
Clinical Procedures
Performs minor medical procedures such as wound care and suture removal.
Assists physicians with diagnostic tests and minor surgeries.
Prepares and maintains sterile environments for procedures.
Documentation and Coordination
Documents patient care in electronic health records (EHR).
Coordinates with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care.
Manages patient appointments and follow-up care
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
