The Infusion Registered Nurse coordinates and administers therapeutic IV treatments, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, while monitoring patients for adverse reactions. They also perform point-of-care testing and maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing and hold an active BLS certification. Prior experience in oncology nursing and infusion therapy is preferred, along with the ability to obtain ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification within the first year.

Infusion Therapy Administration:Coordinate and administer therapeutic IV treatments and infusions, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive care agents, following established protocols and guidelines.Monitor patients closely during infusion treatments, promptly addressing and managing any complications or adverse reactions.Manage complications associated with infusion therapies, such as adverse reactions or infusion site issues.Demonstrate expertise in the insertion, care, and maintenance of intravenous (IV) lines and central venous devices.Ensure compliance with infection control practices and standards in the management of vascular access devices.Complete ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification within the first year of employment.Maintain AHA BLS certification.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
Prior experience in oncology nursing and infusion therapy preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Oncology Nursing Certification – Preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally challenging environment.Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, their administration, and potential side effects.Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare technology.
Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment. The base compensation range for this role is $32.69 - $54.54 hourly.
Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
