The Certified Medical Assistant works closely with primary care physicians to deliver patient care by reviewing health records and measuring vital signs. They also perform clerical duties such as managing inventory, tracking referrals, and preparing treatment rooms for examinations.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold an active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required, and one year of medical assistant experience is preferred.

Certified Medical Assistant Urgent Care-Occ Health – Mercy Health Occupational Health Services Citran
The Certified Medical Assistant is a key component of our team that works closely with the primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care to our community, ensuring services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for upcoming examinations.
Licensure/Certification:
Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required within 12 months of start date):
BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
