The adults that we serve in our residential supportive services program have developmental or intellectual disabilities, and in some cases, physical disabilities. Our adult foster care (AFC) programs maintain Michigan Specialized Certification, a process that helps ensure that our staff are well equipped to meet the highest level of care needs. In addition, our AFC programs are accredited by CARF, an internationally recognized rehabilitation industry accrediting body.
We work with each individual on the things that make a difference in their well-being and ability to live comfortably in the community of their choice. The communities in which we currently have group homes include Allendale, Holland, Grand Haven, and Jenison.
Heritage Homes is now hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Holland Southside location:
Part Time First Shift, 4-Hour Shifts (6AM-10AM)
Must be able to work every other weekend. Minimum part time and on-call variable shifts also available.
Being a DSP is for people who want to impact the lives of others. The role of a DSP is about helping people learn how to do things for greater independence, assisting with activities of daily living, facilitating community inclusion, and building relationships.
Assisting with personal care, hygiene and medication administration (with training)
Monitoring health and ensuring safety
Supporting involvement in community and in-home activities
Developing a rapport with residents, cultivating a safe and supportive relationship
Assisting the residents in meeting any health, safety, community inclusion, occupational therapy, and behavior goals as identified in individual plans of service and OT/PT plans.
Hands on experience helping individuals with disabilities in all aspects of their lives
Scheduling that fits your availability to work – Part time, full time, on-call, various shifts

Full training programs including CPR/First Aid certification and Community Mental Health (CMH) training certificates. Training is paid.
Direct Support Professional, no experience - $18.80/hour**
($15.40 base wage + $3.40 hero pay*)
Higher pay possible with experience in Direct Support.

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
