POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Oncology Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical, and strategic oversight of outpatient oncology services, including infusion centers and clinic operations. The Clinical Oncology Manager ensures delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, while maintaining regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and team engagement. The Clinical Oncology Manager has direct oversight of clinical staff and admixture technicians, ensuring safe preparation, handling, and administration of oncology therapies in alignment with regulatory and best practice standards.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leads day-to-day operations of outpatient oncology infusion centers, ensuring efficient patient flow, scheduling optimization, and care delivery.
Provides oversight of admixture technicians and medication preparation processes, ensuring compliance with USP /, antineoplastic safety standards, and organizational policies.
Maintains compliance with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) standards, CMS requirements, state regulations, and applicable accrediting bodies, while holding staff accountable for adhering to established oncology care standards and safe clinical practices in the outpatient setting.
Recruits, hires, develops, and retains a high-performing team including RNs, and admixture technicians; conducts performance evaluations and competency validation.
Oversees onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education, ensuring staff maintain competencies in antineoplastics/biotherapy administration and admixture practices.
Drives initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, access, and care coordination, ensuring a seamless outpatient oncology experience.
Collaborates with providers, pharmacy, case management, and support services to optimize care delivery and resource utilization.
Develops staffing models based on patient volume, acuity, and infusion complexity, ensuring appropriate coverage and productivity.
Utilizes data (quality metrics, throughput, financials) to drive operational improvements, reporting, and strategic planning.
Promotes and maintains a culture of patient safety, ensuring adherence to established oncology care standards, safe medication handling, and infusion practices.
Monitors for safety risks, supports incident review, and implements actions to prevent recurrence and ensure safe, reliable care delivery.
Drives efficient use of resources across the outpatient oncology program, with focus on drug utilization, chair time optimization, infusion throughput, and supply management to support cost-effective care delivery and operational sustainability.

Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Work Experience:
Three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.
Oncology and infusion services and ambulatory clinical operations experience.
Experience with antineoplastic and biotherapy administration and oncology care standards.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
Certification:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate completion through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) prior to start date and maintained.
Experience in Lieu of Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma with an additional five (5) years of nursing experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Knowledge of outpatient oncology and infusion center operations, including patient flow, scheduling, and care delivery models, antineoplastic/ biotherapy administration standards and oncology clinical practices.
Knowledge of USP and standards of safe handling of hazardous medications.
Strong understanding of Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and enforce accountability across multidisciplinary teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience: Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience.
Certification: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)
