Candidate based location is flexible within APAC, with Singapore, Malaysia and China preferred.
The Technical Product & Application Expert serves as the primary technical liaison between Gnosis by Lesaffre and its customers and manufacturing partners across the APAC and Greater China regions. This role bridges scientific expertise with practical application knowledge to enhance customer experience, solve complex formulation challenges, and ensure successful product development and manufacturing. This position plays a critical role in positioning Gnosis as the partner of choice through technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving throughout APAC and Greater China regions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The position requires 30% - 50% of the time travelling in APAC and China.
Technical Customer Support & Consultation
Provide expert technical guidance to commercial teams during customer interactions, enhancing presentations of new products formulation options
Deliver customized technical services to strategic customers, including formulation support, stability testing, and application development
Support quality teams in resolving technical aspects of customer complaints through root cause analysis and corrective actions
Facilitate knowledge transfer of analytical methods to external laboratories and customer sites across the APAC and Greater China regions
Manufacturing Partner Coordination
Serve as the primary technical point of contact between Gnosis and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs/CDMOs)
Translate complex technical specifications and formulation requirements into clear manufacturing guidelines
Provide on-site technical training and troubleshooting support to manufacturing partners
Coordinate with global R&D teams to resolve complex formulation, stability, and process challenges
Manage product development projects from concept to commercial scale, ensuring alignment between scientific requirements and manufacturing capabilities
Technical Network Development
Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential development and manufacturing partners across APAC and Greater China regions
Build and maintain a comprehensive database of technical capabilities and specializations of regional CMOs/CDMOs
Match specific product and technology requirements with the most appropriate manufacturing partners
Organize and centralize technical documentation to support R&D functions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Bridge communication and collaboration between commercial, R&D, and quality teams to ensure seamless product development
Escalate unresolved technical challenges to global R&D teams when advanced solutions are required
Contribute technical insights to regional marketing initiatives and new product launches
Support technology transfer from global innovation centers to regional manufacturing partners
Qualifications
Education
Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology, or related scientific field
Experience
10+ years of technical experience in the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industry
Proven track record in formulation development for various delivery formats (tablets, capsules, gummies, liquids)
Extensive experience managing technical relationships with contract manufactures and analytical laboratories
Demonstrated success in scaling formulations from lab to commercial production
Skills & Competencies
Deep technical knowledge of ingredient functionality, formulation science, and manufacturing processes
Strong project management capabilities with ability to manage multiple technical initiatives simultaneously
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to various audiences
Problem-solving mindset with practical approach to formulation and process challenges
Collaborative work style with ability to influence without direct authority
Language Proficiency: High-level fluency in English and Mandarin (speaking)
Technical Knowledge
Expert understanding of nutraceutical and dietary supplement formulation principles
Familiarity with GMP manufacturing requirements, quality systems, and analytical testing types and procedures for dietary supplement ingredients and probiotics.
Knowledge of analytical testing methods relevant to nutraceutical ingredients
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for dietary supplements in the APAC region and, preferably, China.

The person in charge of the entity projects is responsible for:
