At Pinchin, we empower our people to uphold unwavering principles and work with purpose to create better outcomes for our clients, communities, and environments.
Pinchin is seeking a Senior Project Manager and Regional Insurance Services Leader for our Hygiene group in the GTA-ON Region. This new role reports to the Regional Director, Indoor Environmental Quality.
Department Overview
Pinchin’s Insurance Services Team is a key pillar of our Strategic Plan and offers strong career growth opportunities as the team continues to expand nationally. In this hybrid role, you will lead the Region’s Insurance Hygiene Practice and the projects arising from Insurance losses, applying technical hygiene expertise while navigating insurer requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys managing projects from start to finish, and is motivated to build and lead high-performing project teams while delivering responsive, high‑quality service to Insurance clients.
Your Impact
Project Management for Insurance Losses: Manage environmental projects including catastrophic events (CAT), from initial assessment through remediation and close-out, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
Technical Leadership: Lead project execution within your area of expertise and provide technical direction to project teams across the region on Insurance-related work.
Regional Leadership Insurance: Serve as the Regional Insurance Services Leader, coordinating and overseeing Insurance services projects across all technical disciplines.
Primary Contact for Insurance Projects: Serve as the go-to resource for job setup, ATP/contracting issues, rates, templates, billing, and invoicing review for Insurance projects.
Client Coordination and Proposal Development: Manage client communication, prepare proposals and budgets, and supervise subcontractors and remediation activities to ensure smooth project delivery.
Team Mentorship: Provide direction and training to technologists and junior staff on-site, ensuring adherence to Insurance protocols and reviewing reports for accuracy and completeness.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Maintain QA/QC standards and ensure all deliverables comply with provincial regulations and insurer-specific requirements.
Key Driver for Business Development in Region: Grow Insurance Services by building client relationships, pursuing new opportunities, and supporting marketing initiatives at regional and national levels.
Sense of Urgency and Client Commitment: Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to assisting clients when emergencies occur. Maintain flexibility and responsiveness as Insurance losses can happen at any time. Work with the other Insurance Service Leaders to manage the region’s emergency response program, partnering with national leadership to further develop and strengthen it.
CAT Event Resource Planning: Collaborate with regional and national leadership to plan and allocate resources for catastrophic event response.
Project Administration and Financial Management: Manage work-in-progress, invoicing, and accounts receivable, ensuring clear, accurate billing and proactive communication on scope changes.
What you'll bring to Bring to Pinchin
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of technical expertise, accountability, and client‑focused mindset, with a genuine interest in delivering responsive, high‑quality outcomes in Insurance Services.
Education & Credentials: Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. Professional designations (EIT, P.Eng., CET/AScT, CIH/ROH, CRSP/CRST, EP) are strongly preferred.
Experience: 12+ years in environmental consulting, including 8+ years in project management and 6+ years working with Insurance adjusters/restoration contractors.
Technical Knowledge: Skilled in water loss and mould investigations, smoke and fire damage assessments, hazardous materials surveys, remediation, and post-disaster IEQ investigations. Familiarity with building systems and current provincial/federal regulations.
Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines, maintain budgets, and resolve issues proactively.
Client Service & Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; able to deliver clear reports and reassure clients during stressful situations. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
Leadership & Teamwork: Proven experience building, leading, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex Insurance projects.
Adaptability & Resilience: Comfortable in fast-paced, unpredictable environments; willing to travel and respond to urgent situations outside normal hours.
Safety Focus: Committed to health and safety best practices, with relevant training and diligence in hazard assessments and PPE.
