The technician will travel to construction sites to perform field materials testing and inspections of soil, asphalt, concrete, and steel. They are responsible for documenting observations and test data using mobile devices and communicating findings to project managers and clients.
Candidates must hold NCDOT Asphalt and NCDOT Conventional Density certifications. Preferred qualifications include additional NCDOT certifications for concrete, borrow pit sampling, and ABC sampling.
NOVA Engineering is seeking an NCDOT Certified Technician in our Raleigh, NC office.
This inspector will help ensure public safety by traveling to construction sites to inspect the contractor’s work, and perform basic field soil, ABC stone, asphalt and/or concrete tests and inspections under the direction of other NOVA engineering professionals to verify the work is performed in accordance with NCDOT and project specifications. Asphalt and concrete plant inspections may also be performed to verify compliance. With minimal paperwork involved, all inspections/observations and test data is input on smart phones/tablets in the field for immediate transmittal to our Project Managers and Engineers for review.
