SUMMARY:
Successful applicant will conduct metal (primarily steel) fabrication and welding on a daily basis. Successful applicant will be responsible for various types of structural welding, including preparation, welding, and finishing operations. Applicant must be able to read, interpret, and understand detail design prints. Successful applicant must be good physical condition and able work in a steel fabrication shop environment on a daily basis. Successful applicant must be a team player, able to easily interact with others, have a solid work ethic. Successful applicant may be required to work at remote job sites on occasion in rock or asphalt quarries or other industrial job sites and therefore must be able to successfully interact with end customers, follow safety procedures and policies, and be willing possible long hours during the day to complete jobs in timely manner so as to get our end customers back operational.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Even though the shop has overhead heaters, the shop environment is often cold or hot depending upon the outside environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
For the plant to be successful, it is essential that employees come to work as scheduled and have good attendance.
