The operator performs go/no-go inspections of electronics and subassemblies to identify defects based on workmanship standards. They are responsible for performing touch-ups, repairs, and documenting workload within the shop floor control system.
Candidates should ideally have a high school diploma and at least 3 years of related experience. Advanced soldering skills, IPC certification, and the ability to interpret blueprints are required.
Principle Accountabilities:
Education / Experience
Completion of a high school degree or equivalent is preferred. Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and distance. Typically requires advanced soldering and inspection skills and the ability to interpret and utilize blueprints. Demonstrates advanced manufacturing line skills, which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and/or lead/guide other employees.
Able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads and supervisors of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

IPC certified.

Moderate impact; may have influence on multiple programs or areas. May assist in developing goals/targets of line or department.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and occasionally works in job assignments that may require overtime and 2nd or 3rd shift job assignments as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to handle small components.
