Candidates must hold a tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 10 years of experience in high-risk industries such as mining or construction is required, along with proven expertise in enterprise risk management frameworks.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Governance team, this role is responsible for leading the governance, and continual improvement of Fortescue's Major Hazard (Fatality Risk) framework. Working across the business, you will strengthen critical control management, leverage data and AI-driven insights to enhance risk performance, and partner with operational and digital teams to deliver innovative, enterprise-wide safety solutions.
You will provide strategic advice to senior leaders, drive governance excellence and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational risk management, strengthen organisational capability and help ensure everyone goes home safe every day.
