Summary
CES is seeking an HVAC/R Service Technician II with chiller experience who will be responsible for performing a range of HVAC/R jobs for industrial and commercial customers. The incumbent in this role will need to be decisive, courteous and dependable. The HVAC/R Service Technician II must also possess the capability to take initiative and communicate well with all customer groups.
Essential Duties
Conduct HVAC/R servicing jobs promptly, professionally and efficiently
Perform routine HVAC/R service activities
Prepare Service Tickets by collecting all required information, notes, and signatures while on the customer site
Recognize potential revenue leads by communicating additional services with the customer. Listed are a few service examples: unit components, unit replacements, add-on units, and commercial service contracts
Develop and refer customer leads to the CES Sales team
Willing to conduct non-service related support for the Installation Departments, as assigned
Perform related duties as directed by the Service Manager
Lead project repairs or replacements, as assigned
Demonstrate proper use of Safety Equipment at all times
Ability to manage time and workload effectively
Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as needed
Ensure company vehicle is in clean and well maintained at all times
Ensure compliance with safe driving practices while driving a company vehicle
Use of cellular phone while driving company vehicle is prohibited
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and overtime is required
Participation in an On Call rotation
Experience
Must have chiller experience.
Minimum five (5) years of successful experience in commercial service and with at least three (3) different manufacturer's equipment
Minimum three (3) years experience with air-cooled chillers, ice machines, chilled water units, light building automation, rooftop units, split systems, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and boilers
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Graduate of a post-secondary HVACR program of instruction with two or more years in duration

Ability to work on own with little direct supervision
Able to work collaboratively with others using tact, patience and professional courtesy
Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, and ready to communicate customer needs concisely during backlog constraints
Able to provide the customer with estimated quotes for small-to-medium projects
Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier
OSHA 10 certification, preferred but not required
