Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $18.50. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Food Service - Line Cook!
Are you passionate about Food Service? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Food Service function. As a Food Service function, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
S&C’s Food Service Department is “self-operated,” meaning that the company’s two cafeterias are staffed and managed by S&C employees. The company subsidizes the Food Service operations, as necessary, to maintain affordable prices for employees. A critical part of any Food Service operation is sanitation, and this position is heavily involved in sanitation work throughout both cafeterias. The individual selected for this job can be successfully taught responsibilities with no previous experience but must always be cognizant of the importance of the work assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering food &/or supplies to the Building 6 Cafeteria and meeting rooms and returning/cleaning up supplies at the appropriate time using appropriate tools/personnel carrier.
Handling and washing of dishes ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.
Stocking deliveries in the Building 3 Cafeteria storage and cooler areas.
Miscellaneous tasks such as mopping the floor and cleaning the freezer.
Learning how to record inventory
Performing support services as required
Other duties as assigned such as operating the cash register or food preparation.
Lifting (up to 40 lbs), standing, bending, pushing, pulling, walking
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
What you’ll Need To Succeed:
Ability to become a certified driver for cafeteria vehicles (you will be trained on premises).
Ability to meet daily deadlines while maintaining teamwork.
Ability to follow specific verbal instructions and procedures.
Ability to read and understand job related materials such as packing lists, menus, and notes.
Obtaining your food safety certification within the first 60 days, if you do not already have the certification (company will cover the cost)
1-3 years of cooking experience in the kitchen
