The Head Coach is responsible for planning and directing the girls' soccer team, focusing on skill development, discipline, and sportsmanship. Key duties include conducting tryouts, supervising athletes during practices and games, and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Candidates must have 2 to 3 years of high school or club soccer coaching experience and a valid California driver's license. A high school diploma is required, though a bachelor's degree is preferred, along with the ability to complete mandated safety and first aid certifications.
Position Summary
Our coaches are actively engaged in the San Francisco Bayview Hunters Point community, and embrace the mission and values of KIPP San Francisco College Preparatory. The Head Coach is to be responsible for coaching, character development and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in that sport. This is a seasonal, temporary role reporting to the Athletic Director.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical:
Ability to navigate office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally, much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 20 -40 lbs.
Mental:
Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.
Environmental:
Gym or field environment will usually contain both participants and spectators. Frequent travel (50%-70%) to gyms and fields throughout the Bay Area. Location of gyms and fields in San Francisco will vary. Adhere to KIPP’s health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies’ recommendations.
Classification
Seasonal, Part-time, non-exempt hourly position that is based on a school calendar and time-off schedule.
