Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrated proficiency in playing string instruments such as guitars or ukuleles. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a team, and experience working with children are highly preferred.

POSITON DESCRIPTION
The Youth Music Coach reports to the Family Literacy & After School Program Manager and is responsible for planning, preparing, and carrying out age appropriate cultural enrichment activities, including music instruction for children aged 6 –13. The Youth Music Coach is a classroom assistant who has knowledge and can play a string instrument, and who works with the regular instructors to present extra cultural enrichment activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Approximately 50% of time spent standing, some lifting (under 30 lbs.)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Majority of work performed in a general school environment. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Also requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
