The Optical Technician is responsible for dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts based on medical prescriptions. They focus on maximizing retail sales while ensuring a high-quality patient experience and medical support.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with ABO and NCLE certifications preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in customer or patient interaction, preferably in an ophthalmic setting.
SUMMARY
An Optical Technician will achieve a world class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients’ medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services offered.
