Location
Dallas International University is a Christian University and provides education and research opportunities preparing global leaders to partner with local communities. The university was established in 1998 and has developed into a level 5 accredited university. Our faculty have served and worked in more than 60 countries and bring practical insights into the classroom from cultures and languages around the world.
The Student Accounts Specialist supports the mission of DIU by monitoring and maintaining Student Accounts as well as communicating effectively with those with a legitimate educational interest in the status of a student account. The Student Accounts Specialist’s responsibilities overlap with DIU’s Finance, Enrollment Services, and Student Life departments.
Responsibilities ii
Program the Billing biannually prior to each ‘Open Enrollment’ window.
Bill and invoice students in accordance with each student’s unique Financial Aid awards prior to the start of each academic term.
Assist students in establishing payment plans as needed. Monitor and remind as needed.
Process and document payments received in response to DIU Student invoicing.
Review Student Accounts at least bi-annually (each Fall & Spring) for aging balances & reconcile or update communication & documentation, according to the review findings.
Prepare 1098-T tax forms annually (October through January) in accordance with IRS regulations. (Note: DIU partners with ECSI in this process.)
Report income and financial aid actuals to Controller & Dean of Students as needed.
Monitor and update content of DIU web-pages pertaining to Student Finances.
Alert Dean of Students if student financial interactions warrant Student-Life ‘check in’.
Communicate effectively and document responsibly in response to inquiries received.
Respond in a timely and gracious manner to student inquiries.
Respond in a timely and collaborative manner to internal inquiries from DIU Faculty and Staff with a legitimate education-related financial interest in a student account.
Respond in a timely and professional manner to external inquiries from those with a legitimate education-related financial interest in a student account.
Work with the Controller in completing additional Finance department responsibilities as requested, such as updating accounting systems/databases, annual unclaimed property report, and mobile depositing of checks.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Hours
Part-time, 20 hours per week. Normal office hours are 8 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Work schedule can be determined with supervisor.
Decent physical health is required for consistent daily work in the office to ensure smooth and consistent billing practices.
