The Senior Estimator will lead and coordinate multi-discipline capital cost estimates and construction schedules for complex mining projects ranging from studies to execution. They will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring estimate defensibility, managing project risks, and mentoring team members.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in estimating and construction. Strong technical knowledge of mining projects and proficiency in estimating software and scheduling tools are required.
As a Senior Estimator at Stantec, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating capital cost estimates for mining and mineral processing projects. You will work with a dynamic team of cost estimators, schedulers, and construction engineers in Stantec's estimating group. You will be a productive leader on the team and will be responsible for coordinating teams of discipline estimators, while estimating many project disciplines.
The position will have responsibility to support exciting, complex projects throughout the world ranging from approximately $1 million to $10+ billion, including open pit, and underground mining projects, process plants, tailings facilities, water management systems, site infrastructure, utilities, material handling systems, mine support facilities, sustaining capital programs, an large multi-phase study programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and development of cost estimates and schedules for design teams at traditional project development milestones.
This role is intended for an experienced senior estimator with experience leading large capital cost estimates for mining studies, major project development programs, and execution-stage mining projects. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience coordinating multi-discipline estimates for mining, mineral processing, infrastructure, tailings, water management, reclamation, closure, and site development scopes. Experience leading estimates for PEA, PFS, FS, execution, sustaining capital, and large projects is strongly preferred. Contractor-side, construction, field, or preconstruction experience is considered a significant asset.
