Full job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Lawyer to join the Real Estate Brisbane team, working predominantly on significant government projects that shape Queensland’s future.
This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to:
Join a tier-one ranked real estate practice
Collaborate and contribute to a successful and impactful Real Estate team
Work with a variety of clients — with a strong focus on government-side work helping to bring to life some of the most significant and transformative projects in Queensland, including Olympics infrastructure and social and affordable housing initiatives
The role
Working closely with Paula Noble and Michael Richardson, you will gain hands-on experience across a broad array of matters, with a particular focus on government work. This includes major infrastructure projects in readiness for the 2032 Olympics and social and affordable housing projects that are making a real difference to Queenslanders affected by the housing crisis. You will also gain exposure to private sector property matters spanning large property and infrastructure project work and supporting a range of other practice groups (i.e. Corporate, Renewable Energy and Resources, Public Sector).
The team has an unrivalled portfolio of major commercial clients and is renowned for its expertise in advising many major players in the real estate industry. The team is also considered a trusted advisor to many State and Local Government clients.
With such a broad mix of clients, across differing industries and a balance of private and public sector work you will have the opportunity to work on diverse matters including:
impactful social and affordable housing projects — work that is both legally challenging and deeply meaningful;
high-profile infrastructure projects in readiness to host the 2032 Brisbane Olympics — a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be part of one of the legal teams behind Queensland’s biggest event; and
a variety of renewable energy projects - we are working on some innovative renewables project including hydrogen, wind farm, solar, hydro and carbon capture, all game changing as the world transitions to renewables;
transport projects in all forms with focus on improving the rail and road networks and infrastructure across Queensland;
capital transactions work for our big institutional clients;
leasing work, generally for government and major head office / industrial leasing for our clients.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have
Property experience, exposure to different types of property matters and ideally between 2-6 years' post admission experience.
Strong academic background with excellent client-facing capability.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate with impact to both internal and external clients and staff.
Strong time and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
A genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and contributes positively to team culture.
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and growing as a real estate lawyer, with a genuine eagerness to take on new challenges.
