The CPT Operator is responsible for performing cone penetration testing and operating various site characterization equipment in the field. They must also collect accurate data, maintain equipment, and prepare detailed field reports for supervisors and clients.
Candidates should have previous field experience and strong mechanical skills, with a college degree in engineering or geology being highly desirable. The role requires physical stamina for demanding outdoor work, travel availability, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

SCOPE OF POSITION
The CPT Operator will be responsible for Cone Penetration operation as well as other roles while in the field, such as Field Engineer and/or Geologist (if qualified), Assistant Field Operator, to Project Coordinator as the ever-changing demands of the workplace dictate. A successful candidate must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills as well as strong problem-solving abilities. The position will be based in the Chicago area; however, travel will be required. As part of a small growing team of employees, you will be relied on for your flexibility and versatility.
