Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a Journeyman Service Electrician to join our fast-paced service & small projects team for Saskatoon and the surrounding area. The role will be responsible for completing daily service calls/small projects, control/BAS wiring, fire alarm systems, refrigeration electrical, EV charging installations and commercial TI's.The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, professional work ethic, above average computer skills with Windows-based programs, troubleshooting/analytical experiences, and ability to interact with customers a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing new installations and repair work on electrical equipment and wiring
Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
Pull wire through conduits, walls and ceiling spaces.
Splice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
Troubleshooting, analyzing, repairs, reconditioning and re-installing electrical equipment including HVAC, refrigeration systems and various BAS applications.
Experience working with electrical and electronic testing equipment
Reporting on and recommending improvements to electrical and mechanical equipment
Developing and managing work orders, logs, and other documentation accurately and on time
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
Some after hours and weekend work will be required
Qualifications:
Journeyman Electrician with Commercial experience (5+ years)
Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology and the Canadian Electrical Code
Experience with Fire Alarms is an asset
Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics
Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral
Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work
Strong work ethic and communication skills.
Commercial/Construction installations experience
Must be able to obtain and pass security clearances once hired.
Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
