Our Building Engineering Team is looking for a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join us in Brisbane. You will work alongside a supportive team on a variety of projects, providing assistance with technical fire protection design services for sectors such as defence, aviation, data centres, education, and health.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

• Support various phases of fire protection project design and delivery, from concept to construction and commissioning, helping to ensure high-quality solutions across different sectors.
• Assist in designing fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, fire detection, and evacuation systems.
• Collaborate with engineers from different disciplines on large, multi-disciplinary projects to help develop integrated fire protection solutions for major clients.
• Help ensure that fire protection designs comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local authority regulations, and client-specific standards.
• Build your knowledge of wet and dry fire protection systems through hands-on involvement and mentorship from senior engineers.

• Summer Intern attributes: Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity. 
• Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in any Engineering discipline and have an interest in, or understanding of, building engineering and fire safety engineering.
• Commencement: Able to work full time hours from mid November 2026 – mid February 2027. 
• Working Rights: Candidates must hold Australian citizenship and be eligible to obtain the required Defence Security Clearance for this role.
