Job Description
Join our Buildings & Places team in Brisbane as a Fire Safety Engineering Intern. With a strong pipeline of exciting projects ahead, this is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of fire safety engineering.
How you’ll make a difference:
Support the team in delivering fire engineering projects from early concept through to completion, helping to develop practical, performance-based fire safety strategies aligned with relevant codes and standards.
Assist with fire risk assessments, evacuation analysis, and smoke control modelling, and help produce clear technical reports and documentation to support design decisions and approvals.
Stay up to date with fire engineering regulations, industry trends, and new technologies, applying this knowledge under supervision to projects and continually improving the quality of deliverables.

Qualifications
Summer Intern attributes: Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in any Engineering discipline and have an interest in, or understanding of, fire safety engineering.
Commencement: Able to work full time hours from mid November 2026 – mid February 2027.
Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand before applying. We do accept candidates with student and graduate visas.
